Description: An exceptionally rare small (2.75") sepia print lid from this popular supplier to the British armed forces that at first glance looks like the familiar 'Almond Shaving Cream' but is in fact a previously unrecorded 'Glycerine Cream' variant. Same two soldiers carrying flags as a tm in the centre. Plain but appealing design. Triple line border. Great quality print

Description: An exceptionally rare and sought after pot lid from this Victorian seaside resort in Portsmouth, Hampshire featuring a fabulous and incredibly detailed pictorial of the famous 'HMS Victory' (see below). Description: A small (2.5") and scarce version of this attractive and popular pot lid manufactured by F & R Pratt in Staffordshire. This being the 'Parfumeurs' variant without the address in the centre and all the wording being in sepia print. Appealing colours with the various flowers (and their respective names in small banners) emblazoned around the outer edge. Excellent print quality

Description: This lid features a great pictorial of the fabulous twin-spired Cologne Cathedral (although only one spire is evident on the lid). An impressive and popular lid.
Gilbertson's was taken over by 'Ayrton & Saunders' of Liverpool in 1904

Description: A delightfully colourful 'Cherry Tooth Paste' pot lid from this famous London perfumer featuring seven cherries in shades of yellow/pink together with green leaves. Likely manufactured at the Pratt factory in Staffordshire. Unusually looks to be all underglaze (often the cherries are coloured over the glaze and can suffer from some fading). Decent print quality (with just a couple of print lines and tiny print misses on one of the leaves). Excellent colours for one of these too

Description: One of several variations of these attractive Heal-All 'Quack Ointment' lids featuring a picture of a rather stern and matriarchal-looking lady in the centre. This being the rare example with the '26 Browning St' address in Walworth and the '26 York Street' one crossed out. Fancy herringbone border. Excellent dark print.
