Condition (please see detailed photo's): Good Has various fine hairlines/glaze-lines (mostly on the reverse and sides and only limited to the edge on the face), a little light subtle stain (on face and rear), a small (2mm x 3mm) fleabite flake on the back rim (and an even smaller fleabite also on the back rim) and some glaze wear/rubs in parts of the outer rim. Little to really detract on display though (nb the small spot on the bottom of the 'Y' of the word 'Cherry' looks to be in-manufacture)

Description: A scarce larger (3.25") 'Areca Nut Tooth Paste' variant of this popular lid from this Herefordshire market town that features 'John Kyrle, the Man of Ross' in the centre. Fancy floral border. Exceptional print quality and attractive layout.
John Kyrle (1637-1724) was a philathropist in Ross-On-Wye and from his early twenties adopted a frugal lifestyle and instead of utilising his wealth for himself, he sought to invest in the greater good of his locality and community that lived there. He lived mainly outdoors and died at the ripe old age of 84

Condition (please see detailed photo's): Good Just has a small (4mm x 6mm) flake/chip on the border edge of the face (that has been repaired and painted over), a small (4mm x 8mm) chip on the back rim and various fine hairlines on a section of the back rim, only one of which is visible from the side view and only creeps into the face by around 8mm (at around 5 o'clock on the face edge, which as can be seen in the photos is difficult to spot) and is otherwise excellent

Description: A very rare and sought after larger (3.5") pot lid variant from this historic town in Surrey featuring a fabulous and incredibly detailed pictorial of the famous protruding clock outside the town hall* in Guildford's high street. Exceptional quality print. Fancy border with wider outside area. An opportunity not be missed!
*The old town hall (or Guildhall as it is now better known) was initially used as a courtroom and built c1550. The projecting clock, erected at that time, was presented to the council by London clockmaker John Aylward in return for being allowed to trade in the borough.
Frederick Wheeler took over the business from his mother in the 1870's and continued trading from the 129 High Street address

Condition (please see detailed photo's): Very good/Excellent Generally very good indeed with just a couple of totally insignificant tiny (<2mm) very light glaze rubs on the outer edge (barely worth mentioning) and an even smaller (<1mm) pinprick glaze-rub under the 'G' of Guildford which is barely noticeable) but nothing at all untoward and is otherwise excellent with just usual very light crazing that in no way detracts (and is lighter that photos may suggest)

The Scott Monument is a Victorian Gothic monument to Scottish author Sir Walter Scott and is the second largest monument to a writer in the world. It stands in Princes Street Gardens (not far from Baildon's premises in Princes Street)
