Condition (please see detailed photo's): LID: Fair Has had a large section on the left side come away at some point in the past and subsequently re-glued to a very good standard indeed (with just minimal filler etc). This of course could be re-touched if so desired but still looks geat on display and otherwise apart from a smallish (4mm x 9mm) chip on the inside of the back rim (so 99% hidden from side view) and several nibbles/fleabites also on the back rim, is otherwise very good indeed with just a few very light superficial scratches on the face that only show at certain angles and are hardly worth mentioning / BASE: Very good Just has a medium (8mm x 25mm) chip off the inside of the upper rim that is completely hidden when lid on top and is otherwise excellent

Daniel Melia built a chain of successful grocery outlets in a number towns in the north-west and midlands. This is why this tooth paste pot lid does not feature any locations as it was possible to sell it from all the companys outlets

Condition (please see detailed photo's): Good Has had a smallish (5mm x 10mm approx) chip on the outside edge of the rim at around 2 o'clock that has been professionally repaired (to an exceptionally high standard and could so very easily be missed). Upon close inspection with a strong magnifying glass under a bright light you can only just make it out beyond the border, but nigh on impossible to see with the naked eye) and is otherwise excellent with just two small spots of minor rust stain on the very back rim

| | | Pot Lid: 'PROCKTER, PENZANCE'
Description: A simply superb very early and quite substantial (4.5") 'Vegetable Hair Cream' lid from this famous mining town in West Cornwall which features the Royal Coat of Arms on the front (flanked by the usual lion and unicorn and surmounted by an early queen Victoria's crown above). Exquisite quality print. Slightly domed with a deep recess just inside the outer edge and with a marbled border beyond. Believed one of just three recorded examples, both others with damage. Another one not to miss!
Provenance: This exact lid was originally found in a back garden in Chapel Street, Penzance and taken into Sanders antique shop just up the road where it was spotted by a Surrey collector whilst on holiday and later sold to me when I had a shop in nearby Marazion in 1998. I then later regretted selling it when I sold the shop a couple of years afterwards

Condition (please see detailed photo's): Fair/Good Just has a small (9mm) horseshoe-shaped hairline bruise on the side rim at about 1 o'clock which also goes into the face edge up to the letter 'Y' of Taylor, a diagonal hairline on the side wall that tails out on the face edge by about 5mm (which as can be seen in the photos doesn't show too much at all on display), a small/medium (6mm x 9mm) chip on the back rim edge and apart from some subtle stain/crazing (mainly on the underside) and the odd glaze-rub on the back rim edge (barely visible and hardly worth mentioning) is otherwise very good
