| | | Pot Lid: 'PARTON, SON & CO'
Description: A very appealing lid from this Birmingham retailer featuring a fabulous pictorial of the Prince Arthur (Duke of Connaught) with a lovely rich yellow/amber background and is likely to have been manufactured by F&R Pratt in Staffordshire, UK (with small alignment circles at 3 and 9 o'clock). Great overall design. Exquisite quality print. Rarely seen for sale
Prince Arthur was the seventh child of Victoria and Albert and upon graduation, he was commissioned as a lieutenant in the British Army, where he served for some 40 years, seeing service in various parts of the British Empire. During this time he was also created a Royal Duke, becoming Duke of Connaught and Strathearn

Condition (please see detailed photo's): Good Just has a hard to spot at first small (9mm x 10mm) patch of heavy glaze-wear on the white border on the face (at around 6 o'clock), another smaller (4mm x 6mm) also on the white border between 4 and 5 o'clock and 3 small (5-6mm) patches on the inside of the back rim. These are all stable and no other signs of any others and the lid is otherwise very good with just the odd in-manufacture subtle indent/raised area which may point to these worn areas also being in-manufacture, but very difficult to ascertain either way
