Pot Lid:    'WOOLLATT, TAUNTON'

Description:  An attractive lid from this large town in Somerset which bears an uncanny resemblance to that of the very common Woods 6d lids (this obvious plagiarism was not uncommon in the period and especially considering the popularity of Mr Wood's toothpaste at the time!). Pot Lid:   'PARTON, SON & CO'

Great overall design. Exquisite quality print. Rarely seen for sale

Prince Arthur was the seventh child of Victoria and Albert and upon graduation, he was commissioned as a lieutenant in the British Army, where he served for some 40 years, seeing service in various parts of the British Empire. During this time he was also created a Royal Duke, becoming Duke of Connaught and Strathearn

Condition (please see detailed photo's):   Good  Just has a hard to spot at first small (9mm x 10mm) patch of heavy glaze-wear on the white border on the face (at around 6 o'clock), another smaller (4mm x 6mm) also on the white border between 4 and 5 o'clock and 3 small (5-6mm) patches on the inside of the back rim. These are all stable and no other signs of any others and the lid is otherwise very good with just the odd in-manufacture subtle indent/raised area which may point to these worn areas also being in-manufacture, but very difficult to ascertain either way

Grade:  7.9       Estimate:   £300-400      Reserve:   N/R

65 £ 770

* These items are just a few from the fabulous collection/stock of the late Chris Bultitude who sadly passed away last year. We will be auctioning all of these over the next few years and have decided to waive the usual 5% seller's comm and pass it on to the Dorothy House Hospice in Bradford-On-Avon who did such a fabulous job looking after Chris in his last few months **

It's difficult to ascertain the true extent of repair but under a strong magnifying glass you can only just tell that several letters around the word 'perfumers' have been repainted but with the naked eye it's almost impossible to tell and is otherwise excellent

Grade:  Ungraded    Estimate:   £60-80      Reserve: N/R

Condition (please see detailed photo's):  Very good/Excellent   Just has 6 pretty insignificant tiny (1-2mm) old brown fleabites on the rim edge (one of which is glazed over) and a tiny equally insignificant glaze rub on the rim edge and is otherwise mint

Grade:  8.8         Estimate:   £60-80       Reserve:   N/R
