Pot Lid: 'SHARP BROTHERS, LONDON'
Description: A fabulous 'Royal Alexandra' coloured lid from this perfumer in central London. Fabulous picture of Princess Alexandra in the centre picked out in yellow, with a lovely contrasting light green/blue background colour and superb quality print. Retains original gold band Beaded border

Condition (please see detailed photo's): Very good/Excellent Superb overall condition with just the odd few very minor tiny nibbles/pinhead fleabites on the very back rim edge and a equally tiny (<1mm) totally insignificant glaze-rub on the side rim edge (barely visible and hardly worth mentioning) and is otherwise mint (nb the thin yellow lines on the side wall were just remnants of old tape which have now all been scraped off)

| | Pot Lid: 'RIMMEL'S CORAL'
Description: A scarce 'Coral Tooth Paste' pot lid variant from this famous London perfumer featuring various seashells and coral (as opposed to the more familiar cherries) in shades of yellow and pink together with green as well as a clever use of a dark brown background that brings everything to life. Beaded border. Great quality print. Likely made in the Pratt factory in Staffordshire. Underglaze print with all colours intact.

Condition (please see detailed photo's): Good Has two medium (3mm x 9mm) and (4mm x 10mm) chips on the back rim edge together with a larger (6mm x 12mm) one which are mostly hidden on display and is otherwise very good with just a little subtle light rust crazing in places (that looks like it could be removed with rust remover) - nb the small mark on the rim edge (near the 'L' of Coral) is just an in-manufacture light print mark

Description: A very rare small (4") ceramic plaque of the Staffordshire factory owner Felix Pratt in superb detail and colouring with a deep jade green background and a black picture frame with leaves in relief and heightened in gold on both the inside and outer borders. Underglaze print with all colours intact. Two small hanging holes in top/back. Fabulous prevenance (see below). A rare offering
Rated as 'RRRR' and £1000-1500 in Mortimer's coloured pot lid book (p103)
Provenance: Has various sales stickers on the back from a BADA London sale in 1965 and a Sotheby's sale in 1993

Description: An attractive cherry T/P lid with a bunch of cherries pictured and the above wording. Attractive layout. Decent black print (with much of the original overglaze green and red on the bunch of cherries intact). Manufactured by F&R Pratt at Fenton, Staffordshire (you can just make out their distinctive alignment dots in yellow at 3 and 9 o'clock).

Description: A fabulously large (4") and very early 'Botanical Tooth Powder' lid from this dental surgeon in Brighton that comes with the original base (also with beaded edge). Lovely light blue colouration. Very bold lettering. Excellent quality print. The only recorded example (now in the update to the pot lid book (page 51) where it mentions Mr Cherriman moving from his 24 Ship St address in 1861). An extremely rare offering!

Applied 'Vantine' stamp to base in gold with cross flags tm. Excellent quality print.

Description: A rare Prattware pot lid and base design depicting a scene with a standing bear, monkey riding a small dog and various children etc on the lid and a specially designed shallow pot that has similar scenes of the figures mentioned above (and many more) in a full procession in green print around the sides, all taken from 'Mr Fezziwig's Ball' by Charles Dickens's 'A Christmas Carol'. Excellent print quality. 'T. JACKSON' printed in black near edge (Thomas Jackson was a manufacturing chemist in Manchester).
