Pot Lid: 'Rimmels'
Description: Appealing early lid (c1880's) with fabulous coloured underglaze cherries and leaves. Manufactured by F&R Pratt in Staffordshire, England. Prattware alignment dots at 9 and 3 o'clock. Pictorial of bunch of cherries.

Condition (please see detailed photo's): Good/ Very Good. Just a small (4mm) brown iron (?) impurity in the glaze on the bottom side rim (which has partially pinged out) with another much smaller brown dot in the glaze 2cm away and 4 miniscule brown dots in the glaze on the back rim edge (all in-manufacture and pretty insignificant anyway) and just some very feint crazing/light greyness (mainly on the back and sides) and is otherwise excellent.

Description: This impressive lid has a red underglaze background and excellent quality print (with just some slight transfer-miss on the 'E' of Areca) and carries a small shield in the centre as their trade mark. Most of the gold band still intact.

Description: This has to be amongst the best of pictorials! (certainly one of the most amusing!) Extremely rare and highly desirable Stamford lid featuring a marching elephant in fine print. Pot Lid: 'Hancock, Bath'
Description: This very early small lid from G. Hancock (1 Old Bond Street, Bath) comes in a pale blue base colour and has the swirls and flourishes typical of an early lid. This example pre-dates 1871 when Hancock ceased to operate (but according to a local expert is more likely to be pre-1850's). Especially interesting the mention of 'Nobility and Gentry' !
